Pengertian object pronoun
Kalau kita belajar mengenai pronoun, maka salah satu jenis pronoun yang wajib kita ketahui adalah mengenai object pronoun. Dalam kalimat utuh, kita mengenai subjek, predikat dan objek. Objek adalah orang atau benda yang dikenai suatu perbuatan. Object pronoun adalah kata ganti yang digunakan untuk menggantikan nama objek.
Contoh sederhana, misalnya :
I make coffe
You love Linda
They hate you
Andi reads books
We cook a chicken
Coffe, linda, you, books dan chicken pada kalimat di atas adalah contoh objek. Dalam kalimat kata Coffe, linda, you, books dan chicken bisa diganti. Kata penggantinya tersebut disebut dengan object pronoun.

Macam-macam object pronoun
Di dalam bahasa inggris, ada 7 kata yang menjadi object pronoun. 7 kata yang menjadi object pronoun tersebut berasal dari personal pronoun yang dijadikan sebagai objek. Perhatikan tabel di bawah ini :

Contoh penggunaan object pronoun berdasarkan tabel di atas :
You love I ----> diubah menjadi you love me
They hate you and I ----> diubah menjadi they hate us
I like Andi, Linda, and my friends ---->diubah menjadi I like Them
I play game with Yudi ---->diubah menjadi I play game with him
You go shopping with Linda ----> diubah menjadi you go shopping with her
I buy a puppy yesterday ----> diubah menjadi I buy it yesterday
Object pronoun sangat penting dalam kalimat bahasa Inggris, sehingga kalimat yang kita gunakan terdengar lazim. Menghafal semua object pronoun wajib dilakukan oleh seorang pemula sehingga bisa memahami konteks yang ada dalam suatu kalimat.
